Thank you for clicking through onto this website. This website is here for the promotion of our breed. We do and will speak about ourselves within the website but the primary reason is for the general promotion of the breed.
We live in the beautiful county of Carmarthenshire which means our dogs live a country lifestyle. We value raising our puppies indoors and we advise anyone looking for a puppy that your puppy is exposed to normal everyday sounds from a young age. We think this is essential to ensure that any puppy can easily be integrated into a new house.
When we do have a litter we generally breed for ourselves first and foremost. As such we treat every puppy as though it is staying we only make our minds up about what puppy is staying when they are 8 weeks old. Before 8 weeks of age you will have to bare with us regarding what could be available.
Along with in the house dogs we do have a kennel block with good exercise areas. Our dogs enjoy being in a kennel of two giving a good companion. The kennels have been deliberately built to allow light coloured dogs access to a paddock in full sun whereas the other side opens out to an area full of trees and bushes and is naturally shaded. This is far more suitable for the darker coloured dogs as it protects their coats from getting bleached by the sun yet still allows them to be out all day.
Our dogs are used to running and playing together and for the most part live as one big happy family including our males who also run together except if there is a bitch in season.
We are very privileged to be able to see the interaction of the dogs over several generations seeing family traits and mannerisms and witnessing old bitches teaching young puppies their “manners” so they fit into the family that they are and will remain in until they die as very rarely does an adult animal leave us whether they have bred or not.
As well as having our own land to run on daily we try to take our dogs out individually as much as we can. We live next to the Brechfa forest which lends itself to many hours of walks and we have a river that many of them enjoy swimming in when the weather is hot.
The downside to this is that actual roadwork is a car ride away but we try to get youngsters out walking round local towns, country fairs etc as well as taking them all to ringcraft and puppy socialisation classes whether they are to be shown or not.
We keep Chows in all 5 colours and try to have at least one coloured litter a year as well as a deliberate red one.
We show our Chows and have had a degree of success in the ring.
