Girls

We tend not to show our bitches to the same extent as our dogs. Some bitches have been shown extensively such as AM/ CAN CH Spindrift Olivia at Jamarhys and a bitch we sold Jamarhys Demeter Of Caristona (Two CC). We find that showing and breeding don’t go hand in hand for bitches. It tends to be one or the other as for a bitch to breed we are looking at not showing for around 9 months (from conception to regaining full show condition).

Our bitches tend to be bred in-house (to our dogs) but occasionally we do go out to other stud dogs for ‘new blood’. Our health testing for bitches tends to happen after a bitch has had their first litter. These health tests used to just be hip scoring but as with our dogs we are now Elbow scoring through the BVA health testing scheme. We hope to improve our bitches the same as our dogs, to get a better representation of the breed whilst being the healthiest they can be.

All of the Chows to the left have been bred by us but do not live with us anymore. Some are pets, some are show dogs others have been used in a breeding program. The majority of our puppies go as pets. If they are suitable and things are planned properly there is a chance of them being used in a breeding program. But we do sell every puppy with endorsements which means they can’t be bred with or exported without our approval. The majority of these Chows live in the UK but some are over seas and we have had successful relations with other countries.

Below are some of that extended family.
